What is Balayage?
Balayage [baa•luh•yaazh] comes from the French word "balayer," meaning "to sweep," which perfectly describes the way balayage applies color to the hair. Our hairstylists use a painting technique to create graduated, natural-looking highlight that blends with natural or root color. Balayage accomplishes a low-maintenance look with your base color with careful color placement.
Balayage v. Ombre
We want to make sure you leave our salon feeling ah-mazing, which is why we take plenty of time during the consultation to understand what you're looking for. Oftentimes, our guests ask for one type of service, when the results they want are better achieved with a different technique. Just take the balayage technique and ombre technique as an example. Ombre placement is more horizontal, achieving a gradient color effect. Balayage, by contrast, is more of a technique than a style that's used to place hair color for highlighting.
