I’m Larissa, and I am so excited to share my world of hairstyling. It’s not just a job; it’s a passion that’s been rooted in me for as long as I can remember.

I grew up in a family of hairstylists, and that sparked my fascination with the beauty industry. What stood out to me was the power to be creative and unique. Knowing that I could boost someone’s self-esteem and empower them through hair - that was my inspiration to become a hairstylist.

I’m a Raleigh, North Carolina native, born and raised. However, I’ve been calling Zebulon home for the past nine years. I proudly graduated from Wake Tech Community college. My journey behind the chair is still fresh, with just half a year of experience, but it’s been an incredible ride so far.

One of the moments that truly touched my heart in this journey was when I had the privilege of doing a new mom’s hair. She was going through postpartum depression, something all too common yet not spoken about enough. She came to me looking for a change, and when I revealed her new hair, she was moved to tears. She told me that life had been tough, but seeing her transformed hair made her feel truly beautiful. I cried with her - it was a beautiful experience.

Ya girl is  all about that “lived-in” color and creating heavily layered haircuts that bring out the best in my guests. I live for customized color placement and finishes with a bouncy blowout. It’s all about achieving your vision.

My guests challenge me to step out of my comfort zone, try new things, and grow as a stylist. Seeing their happiness after I’ve worked my magic is what makes it 100% worth it. Connecting with guests on a personal level is a joy in itself. It’s about forming new relationships that have the potential to become lifelong bonds. Discovering common interests makes every conversation a blast. Social media is where it’s at when it comes to staying inspired. It’s an endless amount of trends and creativity.

When faced with complex hair challenges, I rely on collaboration with my team members. If I’m unsure, I turn to specialists and consult with them to create the best strategy. We’re in this together. In my hairstyling arsenal, Oribe hair oil is my holy grail. It keeps hair shiny and nourished, and who doesn’t love that? Hair care, in my opinion, is a path to confidence and self-expression. A hair care routine brings consistency and keeps hair healthy and vibrant.

My role models? Kiki, the owner of Menagerie Style House, and my mentor Mieke have been instrumental in shaping me into the stylist I am today. They guide me, and I’m constantly growing under their mentorship. Constructive criticism is gold; it’s what helps us grow as hairstylists. Getting promoted to a New Talent Stylist and completing our Associate program was a big milestone for me. I’ve come a long way, and I’m excited about what lies ahead.

Outside of hairstyling, you’ll often find me enjoying outdoor activities, exploring new places to walk with my family. And, I’m a romance book enthusiast! I’m a big fan of R&B music, and I even listen to meditation tunes to help me sleep.
